Membership Commitment

Welcome to the family. Membership is a commitment to grow in Christ together, care for one another, and keep the church a safe, loving and orderly home. Please read the following carefully.

1

Love and respect

John 13:34-35; James 2:1-4

  1. 1.I will treat pastors, leaders, members and visitors with dignity and respect, whatever their background, position or giving.
  2. 2.I will not insult, mock, bully or humiliate anyone, in person or online.
  3. 3.I understand that every person in the presence of the Lord is highly valued.
2

Unity and peace

Ephesians 4:1-3; Matthew 18:15-17

  1. 1.I will not gossip, spread rumours or create division.
  2. 2.When there is a misunderstanding, I will address it respectfully, and seek pastoral help if it stays unresolved.
  3. 3.I will apologise when I am wrong and forgive with appropriate boundaries.
3

Spiritual growth

1 Timothy 4:12; Galatians 5:22-23

  1. 1.I will seek to grow through prayer, Bible study, fellowship and Christian conduct at church, at home, at work and online.
  2. 2.I will receive correction humbly and ask for support when I am struggling.
4

Worship and order during services

1 Corinthians 14:26, 40

  1. 1.I will aim to arrive on time and take part attentively.
  2. 2.I will silence my phone and avoid unnecessary conversations during the service.
  3. 3.I will help keep the venue clean and respect those who do not wish to be photographed or recorded.
5

Safety and protection

Matthew 18:5-6; Proverbs 31:8-9

  1. 1.I will help protect children and vulnerable people.
  2. 2.I will report suspected abuse or serious harm promptly.
  3. 3.I will never exploit anyone financially, sexually, emotionally or spiritually.
6

Relationships and marriage

Hebrews 13:4; Ephesians 5:25-33

  1. 1.I will seek to honour God in my relationships through honesty, respect, faithfulness and self-control.
  2. 2.I understand the church's teaching that marriage is between one man and one woman, and that every person must still be treated with dignity, love and respect.
7

Giving

2 Corinthians 9:7

  1. 1.I understand that giving is voluntary and individual giving is kept confidential. No one will be shamed or pressured.

  1. 1.I will keep my details up to date with the church.
